#Teenovators2015 - Great Minds

I would like to thank Blogadda and InkTalks for giving me the opportunity to attend the Teenovators 2015 event at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal on 30th Jan 2016.  The Teenovators program was all about innovation and feasibility. From the name Teenovators one can easily make out that it is about teenagers innovating something useful.

#Teenovators2015

The Teenovators went to 400+ schools and got 100+ ideas. All the ideas believed in making the world a better place to live in. They selected the best 8 ideas in terms of innovation, originality, feasibility etc. These teams have projects from different subjects like life sciences, physics, agriculture etc. The event went on for the whole day. The best 8 schools gave the presentation during the first half of the day and then post lunch there was a grand finale award ceremony.

Ok first let me tell you about the teams and their projects. :)

Iqbalia International School, Hyderabad

Iqbalia International school from Hyderabad came up with a cost effective idea to treat Anaemia. Anaemia is very common among women in India. Use iron utensils for cooking purpose as they release ferrous and ferric ions in food and water and these ions are absorbed by the body to cure anaemia.

MGM PU College, Udupi

Women safety is very important these days. Women are not safe anywhere and so the students of MGM PU College, Udupi innovated a "Suraksha Kavach" for women which can be worn on the wrist like a watch. This watch will raise an alarm whenever pressed. It has GSM, GPS and camera embedded in it.

Air Force School, Bangalore

The Air Force School, Bangalore have made an effort to innovate CLONEATOR. Their idea was to develop a replacement for humans who have risky jobs. Their CLONEATOR works on the principle of one robot cloning another control robot. The controlled robot can be located in a safe zone while the clone robot in the risky zone. The movement on the control robot transmits the signal to the clone robot which can be operated by a mechanic or a driver.

Velammal Vidyashram, Chennai

The students of Velammal Vidyashram came up with the idea of using the plastic concrete to make shift house construction. This idea would help reduce plastic waste pollution.

Garden High International School, Kolkata

Their idea was to light up the train compartments by using the energy of a running train. This is done by fixing piezoelectric materials in shock absorbers and coupling dampers of a train.

BJS, Pune

Their idea was to control the plant growth using electromagnetic waves. The plant growth can be controlled using electromagnetism.

The project presentation went on for about 4 hours and then there was a short break. Finally the stage was all set for the Grand Finale Award Ceremony. The Guests of Honors for the event were:

Dr. Maulishree Agrahari- CEO,ICT Skill Development Society, Govt of Karnataka
Mr. Anand Gandhi- Film Maker and Screen Writer, Bollywood
Ms. Kiran Datar- Former Advisor of National Knowledge Commission, Govt of India

The judges then share the experiences of  #Teenovators2015 and then it was the time for them to declare the winners. All the projects were really and it was really difficult to choose the best.
But the Air Force school from Bangalore made it and they won the first prize for their great idea. Even I liked their idea a lot as it was about getting a risky job done without effecting a person's life. The Air Force school Banglore got the cash award of Rs 5,00,000.
The Garden High International School, Kolkata bagged the second prize with cash award of Rs 3,00,000.
The third prize winner was the BJS, Pune and they received the cash price of Rs 1,00,000.

Winners of Teenovators 2015

The surprise element of the event was the bollywood singer Vasundhara Das. There was a drum jam session with her in which she taught everyone to play the different kinds of drum.

BOX8- Delicious Food At Your Doorstep

I am a lazy bone who can remain hungry instead of getting up from the bed and cook food. I am a office goer and get extremely tired after coming back to home from the office. Trust me, the traffic of Bangalore makes you extra tired. I need cooked food on my bed and then eat it slowly slowly..

BOX8 came as a rescue for me in this busy Bangalore. Whenever I feel hungry and want to eat some yummy food, I just visit their app and order some yummilicious food from the app. They even treated me one day with these delectable food and I am really thankful to them for it. It was a party day for me.

The delivery service is super fast. You don't have to wait for a long time when you order food from BOX8. Everything is well packed and nicely cooked. Whenever you want to have exotic food or treat your friends, look nowhere and simply open the BOX8  app and order. The app is very colorful and you can see so many options popping out on the screen.

You have so many options starting from sandwiches, wraps, kebabs, biryani, curries and desserts. It is a treat to both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Chicken Overload Meal

If you are a chicken lover like me then this dish is perfect for you to try. Not just yummy, it is healthy too. Chicken and salads makes superb combo. The topping of green chutney added a tangy taste to the chicken.

Bhuna Kebab Meal

The bhuna chicken kebabs is another yummy option to choose. They healthy and rich salads make them taste more good. The quantity is also good and two people can easily eat.

Paneer Makhni Meal

You must be wondering that Paneer Makhni is full of curry then how come this is dry, but the thing is that BOX8 gives curry separately and you can eat it with or without adding the curry to it.

Exotic Mushroom Meal

The quantity of exotic mushroom meal was little less. The taste was also not too good. This is something which I will not prefer to order again.

Murg Dum Biryani

Here comes my favorite dish- Dum Biryani. The quintessential murgh dum biryani was cooked very well. The long grain basmati rice was looking beautiful and was a treat to my eyes and tongue both. This is something which everyone should try once.

Moong Dal ka Halwa

After having masaledaar food, it was time for me to dig into my favorite dessert-  moong dal ka halwa. It was so rich and soft and delicious. Never ever skip this item whenever you are ordering your meal from BOX8. I relished this till the end. The only nay point for this was the limited quantity :( .

My overall experience was good. The best part is they are the best option to get rid of your midnight hunger pangs as you can even order food at 1 AM. They deliver on time and the packaging is also great. You can order food either from their app or visit their store andhave some delectable foods.

My Recommendations:
